Top 5 Ways WWE could book Charlotte Flair turning on Asuka

Charlotte Flair made her return to WWE after she had been absent for six months at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs in December. She joined forces with Asuka, and they defeated Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. This is the only title in WWE that Flair hadn’t been able to lift in her remarkable career.

As a result, “The Queen” finally became a Grand Slam Champion. In the month that has followed, there have been a few teases that Flair only helped Asuka because she was offered a RAW Women’s Championship match in return. But the two women have been busy with other feuds, so the origin of their partnership has remained a mystery.

It appears that both Jax and Baszler, and the team of Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans, now have a claim to a title match. These challengers could test the champions’ makeshift alliance in the coming weeks. Asuka will also have to contend with the Women’s Royal Rumble Winner. Clearly, “The Empress of Tomorrow” will have her hands full.

At some point, Charlotte Flair’s ambition will probably get the best of her. Most fans expect “The Queen” to betray Asuka and chase her title. With that being said, there are several different ways that Charlotte Flair could turn on her tag team partner in the near future.

#5 Charlotte Flair could challenge Asuka to a match at WWE Royal Rumble

It’s unknown how far WWE is going to push Charlotte Flair’s current feud with Lacey Evans. But Evans’ distraction wasn’t enough to cost Flair her match against Peyton Royce last week on WWE RAW. As a result, Flair might be wrapping this feud up sooner rather than later.

As of this writing, Asuka doesn’t have a challenger for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Alexa Bliss used her new powers to pin Asuka on WWE RAW last week, so she looks like the most logical contender.

If Bliss doesn’t challenge Asuka next weekend, “The Queen” could decide that it’s time to cash in on the favor that “The Empress” owes her. Flair could ask Asuka to give her a WWE RAW Women’s Championship Match.

If Flair is unable to win the title and dethrone the current champion, it’s clear that this friendship won’t be the same after the match. This tension could then come between the two women and cost them the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

#4. Charlotte Flair could cost Asuka the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Charlotte Flair is definitely distracted on WWE right now. Her father has stepped into a relationship with one of her co-workers. Ric Flair and Lacey Evans are flaunting their newfound romance in Charlotte’s face whenever they see fit. This relationship has already proven to be a thorn in Charlotte’s side.

At the moment, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax looking for their rematch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Asuka and Charlotte could be on shaky ground if Evans and “The Nature Boy” help Baszler and Jax regain the titles.

Most fans believe that the champions have a deal in which Flair will be handed a WWE RAW Women’s Championship Match in return for helping Asuka. But this agreement could be in jeopardy if the champions lose their titles.

Even if Charlotte is indirectly responsible for the loss, the defeat could cause a conflict between the two women. From there, Charlotte could challenge for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

#3. Charlotte Flair could blame Asuka for a loss on WWE TV

With Ric Flair and Lacey Evans causing Charlotte Flair a number of issues on WWE programming, the former WWE RAW Women’s Champion isn’t in the best mood. If she winds up losing an upcoming match to Evans, “The Queen” could blame Asuka for this defeat.

A dysfunctional team has already held the the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler argued all the time, but they had a lengthy run with the gold. Likewise, Asuka and Charlotte could become a combative duo on the road to WrestleMania.

When Lacey Evans defeated Charlotte a few weeks ago on RAW, Asuka wasn’t at ringside to support her partner. If “The Queen” loses another match in this fashion, Charlotte could blame Asuka for the defeat.

Of course, as “The Queen”, Charlotte can handle her own business. She doesn’t need Asuka’s help. But tag team partners are supposed to help each other, so Charlotte could find a problem with Asuka’s lack of support during her matches.

#1 Charlotte Flair could win the upcoming WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Charlotte Flair won the 2020 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Match, and she went on to challenge NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36.

Flair was successful in her quest to become the NXT Women’s Champion, and she could be looking to make history again this year. She’ll be competing in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match later this month.

No woman has ever the battle royal two times in a row. “The Queen” is looking to be the first woman to accomplish this feat. In fact, a victory would make Flair the first two-time Royal Rumble Winner.

A win next Sunday night would then force Charlotte to challenge a WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania. She has already challenged for the NXT Women’s Championship, so it’s likely that she would choose Asuka.

In 2018, Asuka faced Charlotte at WrestleMania following her own victory in the Royal Rumble, but “The Empress” didn’t win at “The Showcase of the Immortals.” It would be interesting to see if “The Queen” would be handed the same fate.
