Kevin Owens Explains Why He’s Not Frustrated With Roman Reigns

WWE Superstar Kevin Owens has revealed that he bears no ill will towards WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, despite the pair’s contentious history.

“If I was mad at Roman Reigns for the way he handled things when he and I were competing for the title, I’d be a really huge hypocrite because I did all that stuff when I was the champion,” Owens explained on the most recent edition of Talking Smack on Peacock.

Owens and Reigns were engaged in a bitter feud towards the end of last year. The rivalry culminated at this year’s Royal Rumble where Reigns resorted to some un-sportsmanlike tactics to defeat Owens. KO believes it would be hypocritical of him to feel aggrieved as he himself has resorted to similar tactics in the past.

“I had people help me, I had people fight my battles for me. I did a lot of underhanded s**t to a lot of people,” the former Universal Champion continued.

Owens was responding to queries regarding his ongoing conflict with Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews and Apollo’s bodyguard Commander Azeez.

In case you missed the latest episode of SmackDown, Azeez attacked Owens backstage right before Owens was scheduled to go one-on-one with Apollo. Azeez had been banned from ringside, but since the ambush occurred backstage, there were no repercussions

On Talking Smack, Owens said that he’s rolling with the punches for the time being because he can go home to his family and forget everything’s that happened to him. However, he explained that things will be very different once WWE hits the road again later this month.

“It’s fine, I totally get it. Guess what, I deserve every single thing that’s happened to me in the last year,” KO said on Talking Smack. ”ll take the beatings, I’ll take the frustration because ultimately the last year I got to spend it with my wife and my kids almost every day. But that’s about to end now because we’re going back on the road. That’s when that stuff is going to become a problem,” he added. “Because when that happens, I still get to go home and I see my wife and I see my kids right away and all that stuff disappears. But once I’m on the road, and I’m travelling, and I’m on airplanes, and I’m in cars, and I’m going to shows, and I’m away from my family, and the only thing that can make me feel better about not being with them is winning a title, carrying that title, being a representative of WWE and this stuff keeps happening to me, then we’re going to have a problem.”
