Some Wrestlers Are Displeased With Their Having To Prep For WWE’s Return To Touring

It’s being reported that there are some WWE talents who are unhappy with the company’s decision to push extra training on them ahead of the return to touring.

This week, PWInsider noted the promotion had begun letting performers know they will be expected to partake in extra training as preparation for WWE’s return to the road.

“World Wrestling Entertainment began informing members of the talent roster at yesterday’s Monday Night Raw taping that they will be expected to come to the WWE Performance Center over the forthcoming weeks to take part in workouts in the ring to better prepare them for the company’s official return to the road in July,” the report reads.

“PWInsider.com is told that the workouts could begin as early as next week with talents taking part in drills and perhaps even matches in order to make sure their ring work is sharper. This is believed to be a Vince McMahon edict. The workouts would take place on days talents aren’t booked for TV tapings.”

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (H/T 411Mania.com), there are a number of superstars who aren’t thrilled with the edict because they don’t live in Orlando and aren’t keen on having their private lives affected by training on days they would normally have off.

The report claims that the folks who live in Orlando don’t have an issue with it but the ones who don’t aren’t happy as they can undergo the requisite training at home.

Extra Training Could Be Optional For Top Stars

While the original report stated the extra training is for everyone, it’s been claimed that it is optional for the company’s bigger stars, especially if they live outside of Orlando.

WWE stars aren’t opposed to going out on the road as they get paid for it but they don’t see doing extra drills without extra pay as a great way to spend their time.
