WWE paired Kevin Owens with Braun Strowman for a few months in 2018 with their blowoff match coming at SummerSlam. Strowman usually got the better of Owens when WWE wanted him to become a threat to Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
The SummerSlam match featured Braun’s Money in the Bank title shot on the line against Owens. Fans had hopes of Owens winning to add a heel dynamic of the MITB cash in, but Strowman squashed him within minutes. The match made KO look weak compared to the main event players at the time to hurt his momentum.
9Getting Eliminated First In Survivor Series Brand Match
