The Heartbreak Kid was coming into his own as a remarkable singles star, and The Bad Guy was just as popular. Michaels proved why he earned the moniker as Mr. WrestleMania as it was another five-star performance from HBK. They told a remarkable story with a plethora of false finishers. Ultimately, Angle forced Michaels to submit with his debilitating Angle Lock in unquestionably the match of the night.

Michaels and Undertaker’s chemistry together was second to none, and fans were heavily invested in this contest with two fan favorites slugging it out. Michaels did an exceptional job as a heel as he tried to escape, but when his back was against the wall, he stood up to Undertaker. He nailed The Deadman with a vicious piledriver on the steel steps. Moreover, HBK took a tremendous amount of punishment as he wore the proverbial crimson mask and crashed through the announce table. Undertaker was closing in on the win, but Kane made his debut and cost Undertaker the match. HBK prevailed in the best Hell in a Cell match which has not been topped.

Shawn Michaels was back in the main event of WrestleMania XX, and he challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match that also involved Chris Benoit. This was a technical masterclass with everything clicking in a remarkable titular bout.

Benoit was ready to take the baton from these two legends and become the man to spearhead Raw. It was a hard-hitting affair. The Rabid Wolverine captured the World Heavyweight Title in an extraordinary scene, celebrating with his close friend and WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero after the match.

At WrestleMania XXV, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker stole the show in arguably the greatest match in the history of WrestleMania. The two veterans mesmerized the fans in a half-an-hour instant classic.

This match should have headlined WrestleMania but going with tradition, the WWE Championship match was the main event. No one managed to top this match which had several false finishers as expected. Fans believed that HBK legitimately could break the streak. A schoolboy error from Michaels going for a moonsault saw Undertaker catch him, and seal the deal with a Tombstone Piledriver.
