[Rumor] Seth Rollins Could Feud With Roman Reigns After SummerSlam

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have a long history together, and a new chapter in their storied rivalry just might begin after SummerSlam.

Reigns is set to defend the Universal Championship against Edge at Money in the Bank. It’s widely believed that Reigns will then face John Cena at SummerSlam, while Rollins will reportedly get a match with the Rated-R Superstar at the big show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Meltzer suggested that in September, we could see a feud program between Rollins and Reigns. It’s worth noting that the 2021 WWE Draft will reportedly be held after SummerSlam.

“That would probably be September, if they even get to it by September, because the last I heard for SummerSlam was Edge vs Seth Rollins,” Meltzer said. “So, you know if Seth Rollins were to beat Edge then it makes all the sense in the world to go with Seth vs Roman Reigns at that point.”

Reigns and Rollins squared off aplenty after the latter betrayed The Shield in 2014. Their last one-on-one match took place on the Oct. 11, 2019 episode of SmackDown.

Rollins and Reigns are both flourishing as top heels on SmackDown, but we would probably see one of them turn face if WWE were to resume their rivalry. Presumably, it would be Rollins, since WWE seems intent on pushing Reigns as a heel over the long run.

Reigns has feuded with several marquee stars on SmackDown aside from Edge, including Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, Rey Mysterio and Cesaro. So it obviously makes sense to run a program with Rollins, although the WWE Draft would expand the list of potential opponents for the Universal Champion.

Rollins and Reigns had a common enemy in Cesaro. After defeating the Architect at WrestleMania 37, Cesaro entered a main event feud with Reigns, who defeated him at WrestleMania Backlash. But it looks like Cesaro is done feuding with those two superstars now. The buildup for Rollins vs. Edge for SummerSlam should begin relatively soon, assuming that’s WWE’s plan.

Seth Rollins Vs Roman Reigns Would Be Incredible

Reigns and Rollins are two of WWE’s marquee stars. They have excellent in-ring chemistry, and their promos together would be of high quality. Reigns will eventually need some new opponents, and it’s been a long time since he last feuded with Rollins. It would definitely be an opportune time to run a Reigns-Rollins program following SummerSlam.
