#5 Vince McMahon wants Von Wagner as a future WrestleMania main event star in WWE
— WWE NXT (@WWENXT) September 15, 2021
27-year-old Von Wagner made an impact this week on NXT 2.0 as he faced some of NXT’s top names in the main event. While the second-generation superstar was unable to capture the NXT Championship, it seems like he has solidified his place in the eyes of the company’s top brass.
Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co reports that Wagner has impressed Vince McMahon himself. He is considered a talented athlete with a good head on his shoulders, two traits that should serve him well moving forward.
“WrestlingNews.co was recently told that management is happy with his improvement in the ring and he has a good head on his shoulders,” wrote Davis. “Another source said, “Vince sees him as a future WrestleMania main eventer. That should tell you everything about his future here.”
Wagner, formerly known as Cal Bloom, was reportedly getting praised behind the scenes as early as last April, with some people seeing him as a future WrestleMania main eventer.
NXT 2.0 saw many new faces appear. By the looks of it, apart from Wagner, Bron Breakker looks to be in for a major push. The show-closing angle hinted that he could enter a feud with NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa in the near future.
Do you think Von Wagner has what it takes to be a WrestleMania main eventer? Tell us in the comments.
#4 What’s next for former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley?
Lashley lost the WWE Championship to Big E on RAW this week. As per reports from Cageside Seats, there is some speculation that WWE could revive The Hurt Business to feud with The New Day going forward.
Bobby Lashley’s manager, MVP posted a picture with Shelton Benjamin, and the image further fueled the fire about this possibility. Ever since the four men split up, Benjamin and Cedric Alexander have done nothing of note.
As a result, having the former WWE RAW Tag Team Champions align with Lashley again would likely help boost their careers. It will also give Lashley a fresh vibe, and the feud between two factions could make RAW highly entertaining.
#3 Rumor killer on original plans for Keith Lee in WWE
— Eventual Lee (@RealKeithLee) September 11, 2021
Rumors suggested that Vince McMahon wanted to pair Adam Cole and Keith Lee on the main roster. It was said that McMahon wanted Cole in a managerial role in which he would help Lee build some steam on RAW.
However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has said that many sources have denied any such plans. It was previously believed that Cole’s unhappiness with these plans was a factor in his decision to join AEW. But with this new update, fans can rule out this idea.
Adam Cole made a big splash in AEW when he debuted on the All Out pay-per-view. Meanwhile, Keith Lee is still not being used on WWE programming.
#2 Backstage reaction to Big E becoming WWE Champion
— WWE (@WWE) September 14, 2021
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has stated that Big E winning the WWE Championship was a major boost for the morale of the locker room. The New Day member used his Money in th Bank contract to successfully challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship after his match with Randy Orton on Monday.
PWInsider’s report stated that given Big E’s relationship with the roster, everyone was rooting for him to become the champion. It was also reported that the SmackDown roster wished they were in Boston so they could see him win the gold.
“He’s very much beloved by the locker room so it was seen as a huge deal,” wrote Johnson. “We’ve heard from Smackdown talents who said they wished they could have been at last night’s Raw taping in Boston, just to have been there

PWInsider also reported that Bobby Lashley’s knee injury during his assault on Randy Orton was a work, as he is 100% fine. It was also said that the former champion has been getting a lot of praise for his performance on RAW.
“Lashley was getting a lot of praise for his performance last night after the bout, as he should have, as he was pretty damn magnificent,” wrote Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
Lashley attacked Orton after he defeated The Viper during the main event of RAW. But Lashley seemingly hurt his knee during this beatdown, which helped Big E gain an advantage and win the WWE Championship.
With the news that Lashley isn’t hurt, fans can safely expect to see him back on RAW in the near future, determined to take back his title.
