5 WWE/AEW Superstars who are married to TV hosts
WWE and AEW Superstars have tied the knot with TV hosts in the past few years.
Several WWE and AEW wrestlers have married partners who work in the film and modeling industries. Kofi Kingston, for example, is married to an actress. Others, like Christian Cage and Jake Hager, married models.
Likewise, a few pro-wrestling superstars have tied the knot with women who work or have worked as TV hosts. These ladies appeared on the screens of American, Canadian, and Mexican TV channels.
Here are five WWE/AEW Superstars who are married to TV hosts.
#5. WWE Superstar Angel Garza – Zaide Lozano
WWE Superstar Angel Garza proposed to his girlfriend Zaide Lozano in the middle of the ring after winning the Cruiserweight Championship in December 2019. The couple tied the knot seven months later in July 2020.
Lozano holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition science and a master’s degree in Human Resources. After participating in a few beauty contests, she became a meteorologist on a TV channel and later, a sports journalist. She is currently a TV host and reporter on Monterry’s TV channel, covering the news of the Mexican soccer club.
Lozano once appeared on Monday Night RAW in April 2020 as a ringside photographer. As Garza walked to the ring, he gave her a red rose and a kiss on the cheek.
Garza has been in WWE for a little over two years. He joined the company in April 2019 and made his main roster debut less than a year later. The 29-year-old recently formed a tag team with his real-life cousin Humberto Carrillo, both of whom are now a part of WWE SmackDown.
#4. AEW star Jon Moxley – Former WWE Presenter Renee Paquette
Jon Moxley’s wife Renee Paquette is well-known to wrestling fans, having worked for years in WWE.
As a young woman, she dreamed of becoming an actress and participated in a few ads and music videos. Then she switched gears and got into hosting.
Renee Paquette started producing her own show for a small network in her home country, Canada, where she covered extreme sports and conducted interviews with bands. She then received an offer to work for The Score Television Network in 2009.
Paquette spent nearly three years with The Score, where she presented a wrestling show called Aftermath. In 2012, she joined WWE, becoming a presenter, interviewer, and commentator. She remained in WWE for eight years before leaving in 2020, a year after her husband joined AEW.
Paquette recently began her podcast “Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette.” She also launched a YouTube channel. Meanwhile, her husband remains a regular competitor on AEW TV.
#3. WWE Superstar Finn Balor – Verónica Rodríguez
Like Angel Garza, WWE Superstar Finn Balor is also married to a sports journalist.
Balor’s wife Verónica Rodríguez is a Mexican TV host and reporter. The couple confirmed that they had been dating for a long time on live Television when Rodríguez interviewed Balor ahead of the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final. They tied the knot in August that same year.
Rodríguez holds a degree in communication from Universidad Iberoamericana. She kicked off her career while still a student in 2007, working as a reporter on Pumas TV, covering the news of her favorite Mexican soccer club, UNAM Pumas. In return for her work, she received tickets to the club’s games.
After graduating, Rodríguez worked as a co-host of a soccer program called Locas por el Fútbol on MVS Television. In 2014, she moved to Fox Sports Latin America, where she still works today.
A few years ago, reports suggested WWE was interested in signing Rodríguez. Nonetheless, things did not work out. Despite not officially joining WWE, she covered the company’s news as she co-hosted WWE Saturday Night on Fox Sports.
Earlier this year, Verónica Rodríguez’s husband moved from NXT to SmackDown. He challenged Universal Champion Roman Reigns twice but came up short. In the 2021 WWE Draft, 40-year-old moved to Monday Night RAW.
#2. AEW star Cody Rhodes – Brandi Rhodes
Like Renee Paquette, AEW star Cody Rhodes’ wife Brandi is well-known to wrestling fans. She is AEW’s Chief Brand Officer in addition to being an in-ring competitor.
Before entering the pro wrestling industry, Brandi Rhodes worked as a local news reporter and anchor.
“Broadcasting was always my long-term goal. When I was a kid and people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say a TV reporter. I got right into the field and started working as a journalist in Michigan for a while, and unfortunately, I realized I didn’t like it. I was a reporter in Flint, Michigan, and I was outside a home with a dead body on Christmas while my whole family was at home enjoying the holiday, and I thought, ‘I don’t like this. This isn’t what I thought it was going to be,” she told Bleacher Report.
Brandi then moved to Florida to pursue a career in entertainment. She also earned a master’s degree in broadcasting from the University of Miami, after which she joined WWE in March 2011. She then left in December that same year before returning in 2013.
Rhodes’ second WWE run lasted three years, during which she became an in-ring announcer and backstage interviewer. In 2016, she left WWE and spent the following three years competing in different promotions.
In 2019, Brandi Rhodes joined AEW alongside Cody. The 38-year-old has been absent from in-ring competition since announcing her pregnancy last year. She gave birth to her first child last June.
#1. WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg – Wanda Ferraton
Wanda Ferraton, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg’s wife, is a talented lady. She has worked in several different jobs over the past few years.
In 2008, Ferraton started co-hosting a TV show called Faithful Friends on Animal Planet. The show focused on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and physical therapy. It ran for 27 episodes over two seasons.
In addition to being a TV host, Goldberg’s wife is also a stunt woman, actress, and businesswoman. The 51-year-old also owns a custom furniture company called Hide and Chic Boutique, and launched a purse collection with her friend Danielle, branding it DW.
Wanda’s husband Goldberg returned to WWE last July. He challenged Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam but came up short. The two will square off again at Crown Jewel.
