WWE has released multiple superstars this year. Some of the most surprising names included Keith Lee, Karrion Kross and former Intercontinental Champion John Morrison.
Morrison is a veteran of the sport and it came as an unpleasant shock when the company released one of their most tenured superstars just because they did not have any use for him creatively. Morrison broke his silence after his release to bid adieu to the WWE Universe. This article will take a look at his goodbye message to the fans among other interesting stories:
#5 WWE veteran John Morrison says goodbye to the fans
John Morrison is a former Tag Team Champion and Intercontinental Champion in WWE. He is also a former IMPACT World Champion. Unfortunately for Johnny Drip Drip, WWE did not see potential in him and released him last month.
Morrison took to Instagram to send a heartfelt goodbye to his fans. Morrison noted that when John Laurinitus called him to tell him that he had been released, he wasn’t even given a ‘best of luck in your future endeavors’ wish.
“I want you all to know how grateful I am for the support you gave me during this past run with WWE. I also want you to know that I did in fact receive a phone call from John Laurinaitis during which he told me that my services as a talent were no longer required by WWE.”
Morrison also talked about the life of a wrestler and how they are essentially storytellers. Morrison ended on a positive note, saying that even though one door has been closed for him, a new one will open soon.
It had been reported that WWE legend Triple H had to undergo surgery due to a cardiac event. As per Dave Meltzer, the cardiac scare was ‘very serious’ and there is now word on when Triple H may resume his duties in WWE. He also stated that it is likely that he would be given a new role in WWE upon his return so that he has a less stressful life.
Dave Meltzer said on Sunday Night’s Main Event that Triple H’s September cardiac event was “very, serious.” While he’s been around the business in recent weeks, Meltzer isn’t sure when he’ll be fully back on the job, and speculates it could be in a less stressful position.
Dave Meltzer has previously reported that it is unlikely Triple H will ever step into the ring again. He did say that there is a chance he may want a retirement match one day.
Former WWE Champion Randy Orton has broken yet another record in WWE. It was revealed last week that Orton became the only man to compete in 177 PPV matches in WWE. He has now also become the superstar with the highest number of matches on RAW.
Following his win over Dirty Dawgz on RAW along with his partner Riddle, Orton has now competed in 437 matches for the red brand. The Viper has become one of the most reliable veterans in WWE today.
WWE icon Trish Stratus has announced that she will be returning to WWE in December. Stratus will host a WWE live event to be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on December 29th 2021.
”Trish Stratus is ready to serve some holiday Stratusfaction to the WWE Universe in Toronto. The Hall of Famer returns for one night only to host WWE’s live event on Wednesday, December 29th at the Coca-Cola Coliseum. “Excited to step through that curtain and feel the energy of the WWE Universe one more time. Let’s do this Toronto!”
Although Trish Stratus has stated that her return will be a ‘one-off’, there are rumors that WWE may start the build towards a possible feud between Sasha Banks and Trish Stratus.
#1 Former WWE superstars Braun Strowman and EC3’s heartfelt gesture
Former WWE Superstars Braun Strowman and EC3 have announced all proceedings from their upcoming Blizzard Brawl event will be donated to Waukesha Parade victims.
Speaking to CBS 58 News, The Monster Among Men noted how important Wisconsin is to him and his sister. He also stated that he is very excited to do something for the community.
”Myself and my tag team partner for the night, EC3… We have been very blessed and fortunate in our lives with everything that has been allotted to us through professional wrestling.” said Strowman
Strowman was released by WWE earlier this year and is yet to join any other major promotion.
